Dane Watro
Dane Watro is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 116th district. Elected in November 2022, he assumed office on January 3, 2023. Early life and education Watro attended the Hazleton Area High School, graduating in 1995. While stationed at Fort Hood, he studied criminal justice at Central Texas College. Career After graduating from high school, Watro enlisted in the United States Army and was posted at the Korean Demilitarized Zone and Fort Hood. He reenlisted with the onset of the Iraq War. After training at Fort Dix, he deployed to Baghdad and was selected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to be a part of the American unit guarding Saddam Hussein. He was honorably discharged in March 2005. After leaving the Army, he worked as president of Schuylkill County Concerned Citizens. Wilkes University is a private university in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It has over 2,200 undergraduates and over 2,200 graduate students (both full and part-time). The Wilkes University Election Statistics Project is a free online resource documenting Pennsylvania political election results dating back to 1796. Currently, the database documents Pennsylvania's county-level vote totals for President, Governor, United States Senator, and Congressional elections back to 1796. The database also contains directories for members of the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly and the Pennsylvania General Assembly, dating back to 1682. According to the database's designer, Wilkes University Professor Harold E. Cox, "No other state has anything like it." The project's impetus began in 1996, when Cox inquired about 19th century election statistics, only to find that the data would cost $1,000. Robert Schnee is an American politician who was elected to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 116th district on April 5, 2022. Career Schnee has served as a member of the Luzerne County Council since 2016. In April 2019, he was criticized after describing Luzerne County as "like the black child here" during a council work session on county roads. Tarah C. Toohil (born October 1, 1979) is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives until 2022. She is currently a judge on the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. Early life and education Toohil was born on October 1, 1979 in Drums, Pennsylvania and graduated from Hazleton Area High School in 1998. She majored in political science and sociology at Northeastern University, graduating in 2003. Toohil earned a Juris Doctor from Penn State Dickinson Law in 2008. Butler Township is a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,469 at the 2020 census. History Founding The township is named after Col. Zebulon Butler; he is most famous for his action at the Battle of Wyoming, which resulted in his defeat by British-allied forces.
