Penki Pellam
''Penki Pellam'' ( stubborn wife) is a 1956 Telugu-language drama film, produced by D. B. Narayana and S. Bhavanarayana under the Sahini Art Productions banner and directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Rajasulochana, Sriranjani Jr. with music composed by K. Prasada Rao. Plot The film begins with a wise lady Seeta lives with her younger Raju, drunkard father Rangaiah, and ailing mother Rattamma. Once Rangaiah bickers with a person who dies unfortunately and Rangaiah is sentenced. Knowing it, Rattamma passes away and leaves the kids as orphans. Today, their neighbor Papaiah shelters them which is detested by his wife Tayaru & her sister Sundaramma Here Papaiah's son Vasu endears Seeta when she is affronted and silently quits. Aarudhra
Arudra (born Bhagavatula Sadasiva Sankara Sastry; 31 August 1925 – 4 June 1998) was an Indian author, poet, lyricist, translator, publisher, dramatist, playwright, and an expert on Telugu literature. He is also known for his works in Telugu cinema as a lyricist, dialogue writer, and story writer. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1987. Suryakantham (actress)
Suryakantham (28 October 1924 – 18 December 1994) was an Indian actress in Tollywood. She was popular for playing the role of a cruel mother-in-law in most of her movies. Early life Suryakantham was born and brought up in a Telugu Brahmin family residing at Venkata Krishnaraya Puram near Kakinada of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. She was the 14th child to her parents, ten of whose children had died. She learnt dance and singing at the age of six. She married Peddibhotla Chalapati Rao, a High Court Judge, in 1950. Career Suryakantham started as a dancer in '' Chandralekha'', produced by the Gemini Studios, for which she had been paid Rs 75 in remuneration. Ghantasala Venkateswararao (4 December 1922 – 11 February 1974), known mononymously by his surname as Ghantasala, was an Indian playback singer and film composer known for his works predominantly in Telugu and Kannada cinema and also in Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu and Hindi language films. He is considered as one of the greatest singers of Telugu cinema. In 1970, he received the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian award for his contribution to Indian cinema.
