Penang Front Party
Youth Front Party (Formerly Penang Front Party, PFP) is a Penang-based-opposition party in Malaysia. The party was originally founded in 2016 with Zahidi Zainul Abidin, the UMNO lawmaker as an advisor, and revived a few months later by Patrick Ooi. It contested several seats in the then-opposition held state of Penang during the 2018 Malaysian general election but also sent a candidate to Kuala Lumpur. However, they failed in their maiden electoral venture with all their candidates having lost their deposits. In June 2022, Party Chairman announced that PFP eyed to contest 10 state and parliamentary seats in Penang, and Kedah in the 15th General Election (GE15). However, according to records from Election Commission Of Malaysia, PFP did not contest in the 2022 general election. Zahidi Zainul Abidin
Datuk Zahidi bin Zainul Abidin ( Jawi: زاهدي بن زين العابدين; born 9 January 1961) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister Annuar Musa since August 2021. 2023 Penang State Election
The 15th Penang state election was held on 12 August 2023 to elect the State Assembly members of the 15th Penang State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the Malaysian state of Penang. Penang is one of the states which did not dissolve simultaneously with Dewan Rakyat on 10 October 2022. It was decided by Pakatan Harapan on 15 October 2022. In the state election, the Barisan Nasional (BN)-Pakatan Harapan (PH) electoral pact won 29 of 40 seats, with PH winning 27 of those seats and BN winning 2 seats. 2018 Penang State Election
The 14th Penang election was held on 9 May 2018 to elect the State Assemblymen of the 14th Penang State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the Malaysian state of Penang. The legislature had been dissolved on 9 April by the state's Governor, Abdul Rahman Abbas, on the advice of the then Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who also led the state's ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission and utilised the first-past-the-post system. Electoral candidates were nominated on 28 April.
