Elections to Pembrokeshire County Council were held on 10 June 2004. It was preceded by the 1999 election and followed by the 2008 election. The results were drawn from the Pembrokeshire County Council website but the relevant page has now (2013) been deleted. On the same day there were elections to the other 21 local authorities in Wales (all except Anglesey), and to community council elections in Wales. Pembrokeshire County Council
Pembrokeshire County Council ( cy, Cyngor Sir Penfro) is the governing body for Pembrokeshire, one of the Principal Areas of Wales. Political control The first election to the council was held in 1995, initially operating as a shadow authority before coming into its powers on 1 April 1996. Since 1996 the majority of the seats on the council have always been held by independent councillors, with different groupings forming among the independents at different times. Elections normally take place every five years. The last elections were on 5 May 2022. The 2021 elections were postponed to 2022 to avoid a clash with the 2021 Senedd election. Elections to Pembrokeshire County Council were held on 6 May 1999. It was preceded by the 1995 election and followed by the 2004 election. On the same day there were the first elections to the Welsh Assembly and elections to the other 21 local authorities in Wales and community councils in Wales. All council seats were up for election. Overview Boundary changes were introduced at this election. In the main, however, these resulted in the splitting of multi-member wards in urban areas into single-member wards. The Independents retained control of the authority although there was an increased number of party candidates. Most notably, the Conservative Party fielded a large slate of candidates for the first time. Three of these candidates were successful. Amroth (electoral Ward)
Amroth was the name of a county electoral ward in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It covered the community of Amroth which, as well as the village of Amroth included Summerhill, Stepaside, Pleasant Valley and Wiseman's Bridge and well as the hamlets at Llanteg and Llanteglos. A ward of Pembrokeshire County Council since 1995, it was previously a ward of the former South Pembrokeshire District Council. Following the recommendations of a boundary review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales, effective from the 2022 local elections, the Amroth county ward was merged with the north part of the neighbouring community of Saundersfoot to create a new ward of 'Amroth and Saundersfoot North'. Burton is the name of an electoral ward in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The ward consists of the communities, of Burton and Rosemarket. Joyce Watson
Elizabeth Joyce Watson (born 1955) is a Welsh Labour politician who has been a Member of the Senedd (MS) for Mid and West Wales since 2007. Career Watson was educated at Manorbier School, Cosheston School and Cardigan Comprehensive before going on to Pembrokeshire College in 1990. In 1993, she studied politics at Swansea University, later gaining an honours degree at the same time as running Labour's successful parliamentary campaign for Preseli Pembrokeshire. An active Labour Party member, Watson was elected to Pembrokeshire County Council at the inaugural elections in 1995, capturing a seat in Haverfordwest from the Independents. She retained her seat in 1999 and 2004. She was leader of the Labour group on Pembrokeshire Council for six years. Narberth is the name of an electoral ward in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Since 1995 it has elected one councillor to Pembrokeshire County Council. The current Narberth county ward covers the immediate built-up area of the town of Narberth, matching the boundaries of the town/community ward of Narberth Urban. The remainder of the Narberth community (encircling the town) together with the Templeton community forms the Narberth Rural ward. The 2004 Welsh local elections took place on 10 June 2004 to elect members of all twenty-two local authorities in Wales. They were held alongside other local elections in the United Kingdom. The previous elections were held in 1999. The elections were originally scheduled for May 2003, but were delayed to avoid a conflict with the 2003 Wales Assembly elections.
