Peiman Maheripour
Peiman Maheripour (Persian: پیمان ماهریپور) (born 15 October 1987) is an Iranian Strongman and powerlifter. Strongman career He got the second place in Iran's Strongest Man in 2018. He is the third Iranian athlete (after Soltaan Bathaiee in 2005 and Reza Gharaei in 2006) who could compete in World's Strongest Man event in 2017. In 2017 World's Strongest Man, he competed in Heat 5 together with Zydrunas Savickas, Nick Best, Terry Hollands, Bryan Benzel and Oluwatofunmi Fadesire. By placing third in his group, he could not reach the grand final. Ardabil
Ardabil (, fa, اردبیل, Ardabīl or ''Ardebīl'') is a city in northwestern Iran, and the capital of Ardabil Province. As of the 2022 census, Ardabil's population was 588,000. Mohammad Reza Gharaei ( fa, محمدرضا قرایی; born 1980), mostly known as Reza Gharaei, is an Iranian strongman and powerlifter. Strongman career Reza has competed for Iran in several international strongman competitions. Reza represented Iran in the 2006 World's Strongest Man contest, but failed reach the finals. Terry Hollands (born 6 June 1979) is a British bodybuilder and the winner of the 2bros Pro Luke Sandoe Classic Beginners Class 2019 bodybuilding championships. Hollands was also a former strongman competitor and winner of Britain's Strongest Man and England's Strongest Man competitions. He's also a Europe's Strongest Man silver (2010) & bronze (2017) medalist, a 2 x time World's Strongest Man bronze medalist (2007 & 2011), a 2 x time Arnold Strongman Classic 8th-place winner (2011 & 2012), World's Ultimate Strongman 9th-place winner (2018), and the 5th most prolific strongman contestant in history having competed in more than 90 international competitions, winning 4 of them throughout 17 years. Nick Best (born November 3, 1968) is an American professional strongman competitor and world champion powerlifter. Powerlifting Prior to competing in strongman, Best won the USAPL National Powerlifting Championships in the 125 kg class in 1996 and 1997, as well as the WDFPF World Powerlifting Championships in 1996. Strongman Best holds the International Federation of Strength Athletes world record for the 125 kg, 75 m Farmer's Walk, with a time of 47.3 seconds. He won the All-American Strongman Challenge in 2010, his career best win. This victory qualified him for the 2010 Arnold Strongman Classic, he finished ninth overall in that contest. 2006 World's Strongest Man
The 2006 Met-Rx World's Strongest Man was the 29th edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Phil Pfister, the first American to win the competition since Bill Kazmaier in 1982. The contest took place between the 14th and 23 September 2006, in Sanya, China. The 25 competitors in the World's Strongest Man qualified through the World's Strongest Man Super Series. The Super Series consist of exclusive Grand Prix events produced all over the world. Format The 25 competitors were split into five separate heats, each consisting of six events. 2005 World's Strongest Man
The 2005 World's Strongest Man was the 28th edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Mariusz Pudzianowski from Poland. It was his third title. Jesse Marunde from the United States finished second, and Dominic Filiou from Canada third. The contest suffered a lot under the lack of topguys - other than Pudzianowski. Powerlifter
Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. As in the sport of Olympic weightlifting, it involves the athlete attempting a maximal weight single-lift effort of a barbell loaded with weight plates. Powerlifting evolved from a sport known as "odd lifts", which followed the same three-attempt format but used a wider variety of events, akin to strongman competition. Eventually odd lifts became standardized to the current three.
