Pedro Queirós
Pedro Miguel Barbosa Queirós (born 8 August 1984) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for F.C. Tirsense as a right back. Club career Born in Santo Tirso, Porto District, Queirós played lower league or amateur football until the age of 24, when he signed for Romanian club AF Gloria Bistrița in summer 2008. He returned to his country in the following transfer window, joining F.C. Paços de Ferreira but being rarely played during his spell, which also included a loan to U.D. Oliveirense from the Segunda Liga. Queirós returned to the Primeira Liga in the 2011–12 season, being first choice for C.D. Feirense but suffering relegation as second from last. He scored his first and only goal in the competition on 29 April 2012, in a 4–0 away win against U.D. Leiria who only fielded eight players in protest of their economic situation. Santo Tirso
Santo Tirso () is a city and municipality located in the north of Porto Metropolitan Area, 25 km from central Porto, Portugal. In the region, the Ave Valley, there is a large center of textile industry. The population in 2011 was 71,530, in an area of 136.60 km². Another important center in the municipality is Aves. The Santo Tirso Monastery built in 978 is a point of interest. History The History of Santo Tirso is tied to its benedictine monastery. The town grew around it and, from 978 until 1834, it was a "couto" – a neutral area that belonged to the clergy. The 2015–16 Liga I (also known as Liga 1 Orange for sponsorship reasons) was the 98th season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season began 10 July 2015 and ended on 29 May 2016, being the first to take place since the play-off/play-out format has been introduced. FC Steaua București were the defending champions for a third consecutive time, but they did not retain the title. Astra Giurgiu became winners for the first time in their history.
