Peck's Bad Girl (TV Series)
''Peck's Bad Girl'' was a 1959 American TV series, starring Wendell Corey and Patty McCormack which aired on CBS. The show revolved around the misadventures of a twelve-year-old girl growing up and how she related to her family. Patty McCormack, who had played a sinister little girl in ''The Bad Seed'', played the lead character, Torey Peck. The title drew inspiration from the Peck's Bad Boy stories. The show was presented as a family comedy centered on Torey, who would talk directly to the audience about herself and the events from in front of a black screen at points during the episode. Peck's Bad Girl replaced the Arthur Godfrey Show. Wendell Corey
Wendell Reid Corey (March 20, 1914 – November 8, 1968) was an American actor and politician. He was President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and was a board member of the Screen Actors Guild. Biography Early years Corey was born in Dracut, Massachusetts, the son of Milton Rothwell Corey (October 24, 1879 – October 23, 1951) and Julia Etta McKenney (April 11, 1882 – June 16, 1947). His father was a Congregationalist clergyman and an actor who appeared in '' Rawhide'' as Dr Tucker. Wendell was educated in Springfield, Massachusetts. His ancestors included U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams. Before becoming an actor, Corey was a washing-machine salesman in a department store. ''Peck's Bad Girl'' is a 1918 comedy film directed by Charles Giblyn, written by Tex Charwate, produced by Samuel Goldwyn, and starring Mabel Normand and Earle Foxe. The black and white silent film, in the style of the Peck's Bad Boy stories, was released by the Goldwyn Pictures Corporation (a forerunner of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) in 35mm on September 2, 1918. Jacques Bergerac (26 May 1927 – 15 June 2014) was a French actor and businessman. Life and career Jacques Bergerac was born in 1927 in Biarritz, France, the son of Alice (Romatet) and Charles Bergerac. Bergerac was a law student when he met a vacationing Ginger Rogers in France. Patrick Wisdom O'Neal (September 26, 1927 – September 9, 1994) was an American actor and restaurateur. Early life O'Neal was born in Ocala, Florida, to Martha and Coke Wisdom O'Neal. He attended the Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia, and Ocala High School. Upon graduation, he enrolled at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he majored in drama. During college, O'Neal joined the Florida Players, a theatre troupe. He was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and was the editor of the university yearbook. She became one of the most popular child stars in Hollywood in the 1930s and early 1940s, with her films ranking in the top ten list for box-office gross in 1937 and 1938.
