A patronymic, or patronym, is a component of a personal name based on the given name of one's father, grandfather (avonymic), or an earlier male ancestor. Michael Peat
Sir Michael Charles Gerrard Peat (born 16 November 1949) is an English retired accountant and courtier. He was the Principal Private Secretary to Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall between 2002 and 2011. Life and career Peat was born in 1949 and is great-grandson of William Barclay Peat, founder of the accountancy firm of Peat Marwick. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, University of Oxford, where he received an MA degree. He later attended the INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and obtained an MBA degree in 1977. He became an Associate Chartered Accountant in 1965 and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) in 1975. Peat joined Peat Marwick Mitchell in 1972, became a partner in 1985. William Barclay Peat
Sir William Barclay Peat (15 February 1852 – 24 January 1936) was an accountant and one of the founders of KPMG. Career Peat born in Forebank, St Cyrus, Kincardine, Scotland. Steve Peat
Steve Peat (born 17 June 1974 in Chapeltown, South Yorkshire), nicknamed "Sheffield Steel" or more commonly just "Peaty", is a professional downhill mountain biker who was born and lives in Chapeltown, Sheffield, England. Prior to his career as a professional mountain biker Peat was employed as a plumber by James Lamb. He is married to Adele Croxon and has two sons, Jake and George Peat. Peat began his career with little success riding for the Saracen team alongside Rob Warner, before moving in the mid 1990s to Team MBUK. Stephen Peat
Stephen Boyd Peat (born March 10, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger who played as an enforcer. He was drafted in the second round, 32nd overall, by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Anaheim traded his rights to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a draft pick before the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Peat played four seasons in the Western Hockey League before joining the Capitals' American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates. Peat debuted in the National Hockey League with the Capitals in the 2001–02 season, scoring four points in 38 games. Neville Peat
Neville Douglas Peat (born 1947) is a New Zealand author and photographer, based at Broad Bay on the Otago Peninsula. He specialises in topics about natural history, notably that of southern New Zealand and New Zealand's subantarctic islands. He has written over 40 titles since the late 1970s and has been writing full-time since 1986. In 1994, Peat was named Dunedin Citizen of the Year for his series of photographic books on the city and his establishment of the Dunedin Environmental Business Network, and in 1996 won the Montana New Zealand Book Awards for his book ''Wild Dunedin''. Mark Peat
Mark Peat (born 13 March 1982) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bo'ness United in the Scottish Junior Football Association, East Region. He has previously played in the Scottish Premier League for Aberdeen and in the Scottish Football League for several clubs. Career Peat came through the youth ranks at Aberdeen and was a member of the Dons youth squad that won the Scottish Youth Cup in 2000–2001.
