Shahar Pe'er
Shahar Pe'er ( he, שחר פאר, ; born ) is an Israeli retired tennis player. Pe'er won five singles and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as four singles and three doubles titles on the ITF circuit in her career. She reached her best singles ranking of world number 11, the highest of any Israeli tennis player in history, in January 2011. She peaked at number 14 in the doubles rankings in May 2008. Pe'er is widely regarded as the most successful Israeli female tennis player in history, having twice reached a Grand Slam quarterfinal in singles and appeared in the doubles final of the 2008 Australian Open, with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus. Dana Pe'er (born 1971), Chair and Professor in Computational and Systems Biology Program at Sloan Kettering Institute is a researcher in computational systems biology. A Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator since 2021, she was previously a professor at Columbia Department of Biological Sciences. Pe'er's research focuses on understanding the organization, function and evolution of molecular networks, particularly how genetic variations alter the regulatory network and how these genetic variations can cause cancer. Daniel Pe'er (born Daniel Freudenreich, he, דניאל פאר; January 2, 1943 – September 28, 2017) was an Israeli television host and News presenter, newsreader. Early life Daniel Freudenreich was born in Jerusalem, Mandatory Palestine, British Mandate of Palestine, to a Jewish family. He studied at Balfour school and the Ironi Aleph High School in Tel Aviv. He served in the Israel Defense Forces as a psychotechnical interviewer. He majored in Hebrew literature and English linguistics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and received a teaching certificate in English, where he continued his graduate studies at the Institute of Communication. Pe'er Visner ( he, פאר ויסנר; born 1957) is an Israeli politician who was deputy mayor of Tel Aviv and chair of the The Greens (Israel), Israeli Green Party. Political career Visner strongly opposed a 2006 resolution by the Green Party (United States), United States Green Party calling for Disinvestment from Israel, divestment from Israel. Pe'er Tasi ( he, פאר טסי; born 10 May 1984) is an Israeli singer and songwriter in the Mizrahi genre. Biography Tasi was born on 10 May 1984 in Israeli town Pardes Hanna-Karkur, and is of Yemenite Jewish ancestry. He began singing at age six in the Yemenite synagogue in his neighborhood. In his youth, he sang in karaoke clubs and parties. Tasi served in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat soldier in the Kfir Brigade. Following the completion of his military service, he was a hotel singer for the Fattal hotel management company. After two years, Tasi left the hotel business and began working on his debut album.
