Helge Payer (born 9 August 1979) is an Austrian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played for the Austria national team. Club career Payer came through the youth ranks at Rapid Wien to make his professional debut in the 2001–02 season, taking over the first-choice spot from Czech veteran Ladislav Maier. In 2006, he was also named team captain. With Rapid, he won two league titles, also appearing five times in the 2005–06 UEFA Champions League group stage. On 27 August 2009, he saved an Ashley Young penalty at Villa Park in the UEFA Europa League as Rapid Wien lost to Aston Villa 2–1. Rapid did, however, proceed to the next round via the away goals rule. Serge Payer (born May 7, 1979) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Payer retired at the end of the 2011 season where he played with Vålerenga Ishockey of the GET-ligaen. Payer played 119 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators, scoring 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points. Playing career Payer was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Florida Panthers on 30 September 1997. In 1999, Payer's career nearly came to an end when he was diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome while playing junior hockey for the Kitchener Rangers. After a 10-month battle with the disease and subsequent bout with mononucleosis, he returned to the Rangers before eventually making his NHL debut on November 13, 2000, against the Atlanta Thrashers. Payer Island (russian: остров Пайера, translit=ostrov Payera) is an island in Franz Josef Land, Russia. This island was named after Julius Johannes Ludovicus von Payer an Austro-Hungarian arctic explorer and an Arctic landscape artist, one of the leaders of the Austro-Hungarian North Pole Expedition. Geography Payer Island is part of the Zichy Land subgroup of the Franz Josef Land. Its area is 151 km² and it lies to the SE of Jackson Island. The headland at the northern end is ''Mys Nordik''. The Payer Mountains (german: Payergruppe) is a group of scattered mountains extending north-south for about , standing east of the Weyprecht Mountains and forming the eastern half of the Hoel Mountains in central Queen Maud Land. Payer Peak, ( da, Payer Tinde or ''Payers Fjeld'') is a mountain in King Christian X Land, Northeast Greenland. Administratively it is part of the Northeast Greenland National Park zone. The region around Payer Peak is uninhabited. This mountain is located in the high Arctic zone, where Polar climate prevails. The average annual temperature in the area is −17 °C. Friedrich Von Payer
Friedrich Ludwig von Payer (12 June 1847 – 14 July 1931) was a Germans, German lawyer, Liberalism, liberal politician and the vice-chancellor of German Empire during the last year of World War I. He was born in Tübingen and was educated at the seminary at Blaubeuren, returning to his home town to study law in 1865. Having completed his university education, he worked as a lawyer in Stuttgart and was first elected to the Reichstag (German Empire), Reichstag in 1877. He reached the height of his political career during the First World War during which he advocated a diplomacy, negotiated peace with the allied powers and was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the German Empire, vice-chancellor. Julius Johannes Ludovicus Ritter von Payer (2 September 1841, – 29 August 1915), ennobled Ritter von Payer in 1876, was an officer of the Austro-Hungarian Army, mountaineer, arctic explorer, cartographer, painter, and professor at the Theresian Military Academy.
