Pavel Krotov
Pavel Vadimovich Krotov (russian: Павел Вадимович Кротов; born 24 April 1992) is a Russian freestyle skier, specializing in aerials. Career Krotov competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Russia. He placed 9th in the first qualifying round in the aerials, failing to advance. He subsequently placed 3rd in the second qualification round, enough to progress to the final. In the first jump of the three-jump final, he finished 10th, not enough to advance further. As of April 2014, his best showing at the World Championships is 18th, in the 2011 aerials. Krotov made his World Cup debut in January 2011. Shimao Lotus Mountain
Shimao () is a Neolithic site in Shenmu County, Shaanxi, China. The site is located in the northern part of the Loess Plateau, on the southern edge of the Ordos Desert. It is dated to around 2000 BC, near the end of the Longshan period, and is the largest known walled site of that period in China, at 400 ha. The fortifications of Shimao were originally believed to be a section of the Great Wall of China, but the discovery of jade pieces prompted an archaeological investigation, which revealed that the site was of Neolithic age. The city was surrounded by inner and outer stone walls, in contrast to the rammed earth walls typical of Longshan sites in the Central Plain and Shandong. The walls were 2.5 meters thick on average, with perimeters of approximately 4200 m and 5700 m respectively, and feature gates, turrets and watch towers. Lake Placid is a village in the Adirondack Mountains in Essex County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,303. Rukatunturi ( fi, Ruka) is a high fell and a ski resort in Kuusamo, Finland. Apart from downhill skiing, there are over 500 km of cross-country skiing tracks. Also snowmobiles can be rented to enjoy some of the area's 600 km of snowmobile routes (of which 100 km are safari organizers' private routes). Ruka is also the southern end of the Karhunkierros hiking trail.
