Paulo Gomes (racing Driver)
Paulo de Mello Gomes (born April 14, 1948 in Ribeirão Preto) is a retired Brazilian racing driver. He won the Stock Car Brasil in 1979, 1983, 1984 and 1995. Gomes competed in Stock Car Brasil from 1979 to 2003. In 2007, he returned briefly to compete in the last six races before retiring. Stock Car Pro Series, formerly known as Stock Car Brasil, is a touring car auto racing series based in Brazil organized by Vicar. It is considered the major Brazilian and South American motorsports series. Starting in 1979 with Chevrolet as the only constructor, the series has also seen other constructors joining in and leaving such as Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Volkswagen, currently the only other beside Chevrolet is Toyota. Marcos Gomes
Marcos Giffoni de Melo Gomes (born July 26, 1984) is a Brazilian professional racing driver currently set to compete in the Stock Car Brasil series for Cavaleiro Sports, where he won the 2015 championship. Marcos is the son of four-time Stock Car champion Paulo Gomes (racing driver), Paulo Gomes and brother of the also racing driver Pedro Gomes. Racing career On July 5, 2009 he won the fifth round of the season at Autódromo José Carlos Pace, Interlagos by Action Power, winning their fourth win in the category. At dawn on July 6, soon after the victory at Interlagos, the truck of Action Power team had an accident on the Highway Régis Bittencourt, destroying all the equipment including the car of Marcos Gomes. On occurred, the team officially announced that he was out of the season. Gomes joined RCM Motorsport for the rest of the season, but the team stayed with the Action Power name.
