Paul Hayes Tucker
Paul Hayes Tucker (born 1950) is an American art historian, professor, curator, and author. His specialties include Claude Monet and impressionism. He spent over 40 years teaching at the University of California Santa Barbara, Williams College, the New York University Institute of Fine Arts, Yale University, and the Toledo Museum of Art, including 36 years teaching art history at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He has curated 16 art exhibitions and authored 11 books. Early life Grandson of Carlton J. H. Hayes, a history professor at Columbia University who was United States Ambassador to Spain during World War II, Tucker sought to follow in his grandfather's footsteps as a history scholar. Paul Tucker (banker)
Sir Paul Tucker (born 24 March 1958) is a British economist, central banker, and author. He was formerly the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, with responsibility for financial stability, and served on the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee from June 2002 until October 2013 and its interim and then full Financial Policy Committee from June 2011. In November 2012 he was turned down for the position of governor in favour of Mark Carney. In June 2013, Tucker announced that he would leave the Bank of England, and later that he would be moving to Harvard. He was knighted in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to central banking. His book, ''Unelected Power'', was published in May 2018. Early life Tucker was educated at Codsall High School, Wolverhampton, and graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, where he studied maths and philosophy. Lighthouse Family were a British musical duo that rose to prominence in the mid-1990s and initially remained active until the early 2000s. Singer Tunde Baiyewu and songwriter Paul Tucker formed the act in 1993 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, after meeting while studying at university and both working at the same bar. Their 1995 debut album '' Ocean Drive'' sold more than 1.8 million copies in the UK alone and established them as a popular easy listening duo throughout Europe. They are best known for their worldwide hit "High", which reached number four on the UK Singles Chart and number one in Australia. Paul Tucker (born November 4, 1981) is a Canadian visual artist, and illustrator of graphic novels and webcomics. Biography Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Tucker claims his fascination with comics started as a child, and stuck with him. Education Tucker attained his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, at Memorial University of Newfoundland Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook. Japanese travel After university he taught English in Japan for a year. In Japan, Tucker was able to learn more about the popular illustrated comic books, known as manga.
