Paul R. D'Amato
Paul R. D'Amato (born July 19, 1947) is an American lawyer Republican Party politician who represented the 2nd Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2002 until he resigned in May 2003. Early life and education A resident of Linwood, New Jersey, D'Amato was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and graduated from Atlantic City High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Mount Saint Mary College in 1969 and was awarded a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1974. New Jersey's 2nd Legislative District
New Jersey's 2nd legislative district is one of 40 in the state, covering the Atlantic County municipalities of Absecon City, Atlantic City, Brigantine City, Buena Borough, Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Folsom Borough, Hamilton Township, Linwood City, Longport Borough, Margate City, Mullica Township, Northfield City, Pleasantville City, Somers Point City and Ventnor City as of the 2011 apportionment. Except for an eight-year period from 1974 until 1982, the 2nd District has been exclusively made up of municipalities from Atlantic County since 1967. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 216,156, of whom 170,802 (79.0%) were of voting age.
