Paul Lynch (politician)
Paul Gerard Lynch, an Australian politician. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Liverpool for the Labor Party from 1995 until 2023. Early career and background Lynch graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a LLB and was elected as a Councillor on Liverpool City Council in 1987 until his election to NSW Parliament in 1995. During this period he served as Deputy Mayor and served on the Western Suburbs Regional Organisation of Councils. Lynch originally ran for Labor Party preselection for Liverpool in 1989, but was defeated by Peter Anderson. A prominent member of the party's left-wing faction, Lynch gained his revenge on the right-wing Anderson when Anderson failed to cement support amongst his local party members and lost party pre-selection. Paul Lynch (born June 11, 1946) is a Canadian film director and television director. Lynch came to Canada in 1960. He left school to become a cartoonist for the ''Toronto Star'' and then served as a photographer for a number of small-town newspapers. This led to work in film, including a 90-minute documentary on ''Penthouse'' magazine commissioned by its publisher, Bob Guccione. His first feature film was ''The Hard Part Begins''. This was followed by the box-office hit '' Prom Night'', a straightforward slasher film starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Leslie Nielsen. Lynch has only made movies periodically, pursuing instead a career directing for American television. Paul Lynch (born 18 October 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL). Lynch was an injury-prone player due to an unusual build where the base of his back was straight instead of inverted. As a result, he suffered from back, lower leg and in particular hamstring problems. After sporadic appearances in his first two seasons, Lynch put together 14 games in 1995, including a qualifying final. He kicked 20 goals in 1997 and had a great run of form midway through the year, polling three, two and three Brownlow Medal votes in successive weeks. However, hamstring and back injuries would see him play just 19 further games over three seasons before being de-listed.
