Paul Evans (Australian Footballer)
Paul Evans (born 29 December 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Port Adelaide Football Club, Port Adelaide in the Australian Football League (AFL) and South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Evans played in Port Adelaide's SANFL junior teams and was a member of the South Australian team that won the AFL Under 18 Championships, Teal Cup in 1995, kicking eight goals in the final against Vic Metro. Evans was selected by Port Adelaide's AFL team as a zonal selection in the 1996 AFL Draft, forming their inaugural AFL squad for the 1997 AFL season, 1997 season, but did not make any appearances 1997 AFL season, that year. Evans made his senior AFL debut in 1998 AFL season, 1998, playing six matches. He kicked two goals and four behinds on his league debut, against Fremantle Football Club, Fremantle at Football Park. The 2000 AFL season was the 104th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured sixteen clubs. It ran from 8 March until 2 September, scheduled as the earliest season in history to avoid a clash with the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Football Park, known commercially as AAMI Stadium, was an Australian rules football stadium located in West Lakes, South Australia, West Lakes, a western suburb of Adelaide, the state capital of South Australia, Australia.
