Paul Erickson (trade Unionist)
Paul Erickson is the national secretary of the federal Australian Labor Party. Political career Erickson worked for the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) in research and data. In 2014, he took up the position as assistant national secretary of the Australian Labor Party. Following the resignation of Noah Carroll in 2019, Erickson was appointed acting national secretary and was appointed to the role permanently on 16 August 2019. Erickson is a member of the left faction. Personal life Erickson grew up in Victoria. He holds a bachelor's degree in arts and economics. The Australian Labor Party National Executive is an internal executive body of the Australian Labor Party charged with directly overseeing the general organisation and strategy of the party. Twenty members of the National Executive are elected by the party's National Conference, which is the highest representative body of the party's state and territory branches. The other eight members are party ex-officio members. Members on the Executive may be officials of trade unions affiliated to the party, members of federal or state Parliaments, or rank-and-file ALP members. Wayne Swan
Wayne Maxwell Swan (born 30 June 1954), often colloquially referred to as Swanny, is an Australian politician who is National President of the Labor Party. He was previously the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and Deputy Leader of the Labor Party from 2010 to 2013, and the Treasurer of Australia from 2007 to 2013. Swan was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1993 for Lilley in Queensland, although he lost this seat in 1996. He regained the seat in 1998 and represented it until retiring in 2019. Following Labor's victory in 2007, Swan was appointed Treasurer of Australia by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. In this position, he played a key role in Australia's response to the Global Financial Crisis throughout 2008 and 2009. Noah Carroll
Noah Carroll was the 11th National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party. He is a member of the party's right faction. Political career Carroll joined Labor at the age of 21 while living in Mount Macedon in rural Victoria. He then served as Councillor for the Shire of Macedon Ranges. He has also previously been employed as a Ministerial Advisor to the Victorian Treasurer, Adviser to the Minister for Finance and Consumer Affairs and as an Adviser to the Minister for Gaming and Consumer Affairs. Carroll subsequently worked as the Assistant State Secretary of Victorian Labor from 2009 to 2011 and then as State Secretary from 2011 to 2016.
