Paul Baade
Paul Baade (born December 14, 1940) was a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives during the 1990s and later served on the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners. A native of Muskegon, Baade worked for the Muskegon Chronicle The ''Muskegon Chronicle'' is a daily newspaper in Muskegon, Michigan, owned by Booth newspapers. The ''Muskegon Chronicle'' is a daily newspaper in Muskegon, Michigan, owned by Booth newspapers. In May 2007, the paper celebrated 150 years. Because of common ownership with ''Grand Rapids Press'', the ''Chronicle''s coverage and distribution focuses on Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, and Ottawa County north of the Grand River, while the Press focuses on Kent, Ottawa (south of the Grand River), and Allegan counties. These two papers often publish each other's stories. Beginning with the October 18 edition, printing of the ''Chronicle'' was moved from Muskegon to the Walker, Michigan, printing facility of ''The Grand Rapids Press''. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census. Its composition, powers and duties are established in Article IV of the Michigan Constitution. Members are elected in even-numbered years and take office at 12 p.m. (EST) on January 1 following the November general election.
