Patrick Johnson (defensive End)
Patrick Johnson (born January 10, 1998) is an American football outside linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Tulane. Early life and high school Johnson grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee and attended Notre Dame High School. College career Johnson played for the Tulane Green Wave for four seasons. After serving as a reserve outside linebacker as a freshman, he became a starting edge rusher going into his sophomore year and was named second-team All-American Athletic Conference (AAC) after leading the team with 10.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles. Johnson was named second-team All-AAC for a second straight season after recording four sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss with four passes broken up as a junior. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The 2021 NFL Draft was the 86th National Football League Draft, the annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2021 NFL season. The draft was held in Cleveland from April 29 to May 1, 2021. Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones — the second highest number of first-round quarterback selections (along with the 1999 and 2018 drafts) after the six selected in 1983. The draft also marked the third time the first three picks (Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance) were quarterbacks, following the 1971 and 1999 drafts. WDEF-TV (channel 12) is a television station in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with CBS. Owned by Morris Multimedia, the station maintains studios on Broad Street in Chattanooga and a transmitter in nearby Signal Mountain. Although parts of the Chattanooga market are in the Central Time Zone, all schedules are listed in Eastern Time.
