Patrick Harrington (bishop)
Patrick Joseph Harrington (born 12 September 1939) is the Bishop-emeritus of the Diocese of Lodwar in Kenya. He was born in Kilmeague, County Kildare, Ireland. He was ordained a priest on 16 December 1963 for the Society of African Missions. He was General superior of the SAM between 1985 and 1993. On 17 February 2000 he was appointed Bishop of Lodwar. He was ordained a bishop on 20 March of the same year. The principal consecrator was Cardinal Jozef Tomko; his principal co-consecrators were Bishop John Christopher Mahon Bishop John Christopher Mahon, D.C.L, S.P.S. (1922-2004), was an Irish born priest a member of the Kiltegan Fathers. He served as Bishop of Lodwar, Turkana, Kenya from 1978 until 2000. Patrick John Harrington KC is a Welsh criminal law barrister and King's Counsel. He has acted in more than 250 homicide trials, and has been noted for work on some of "the largest and most complex fraud cases in the UK". He has been referred to as one of Wales' "most prominent" lawyers. Early life Harrington was born in Ebbw Vale, attending Ebbw Vale Grammar School. Upon leaving school, Harrington went to read Law at the Birmingham College of Commerce (now Birmingham City University), obtaining a Bachelor of Laws degree. Career Following his education, he was called to the Bar (Gray's Inn) in 1973, and Harrington practiced from chambers in Cardiff for twenty years. He was appointed as an Assistant Recorder in 1985 and made a Recorder in 1990. In 1993 he took silk, moving to chambers in London. Patrick Antony Harrington (born 24 May 1964) is a far-right British political activist and writer of Irish Catholic family origins, who has published pamphlets by the Social Credit advocate and former editor of the ''Liverpool Newsletter'', Anthony Cooney, about prominent Catholic writers such as G.K. Chesterton, J.R.R. Tolkien and Hilaire Belloc. He is currently general secretary of Solidarity – The Union for British Workers and a director of the Third Way, a think tank (since 1989).
