Pat McGrath (Waterford Hurler)
Patrick "Pat" McGrath (born 1953) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a midfielder for the Waterford senior team. Born in Waterford, McGrath first made an impression on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he linked up with the Waterford minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel for the 1970 championship. McGrath went on to play a key role for Waterford for sixteen years, however, he enjoyed little success during his inter-county career. He was a Munster runner-up on two occasions. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team at various times throughout his career, McGrath won two Railway Cup medals. At club level he is a seven-time championship medallist with Mount Sion. Throughout his career McGrath made 16 championship appearances for Waterford. 1986 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1986 was the 100th staging of Ireland's premier hurling knock-out competition. Cork won the championship, beating Galway 4–13 to 2–15 in the final at Croke Park, Dublin. Munster Under-21 Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. It is sponsored by Bord Gáis Energy. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a three-week period, and the results determine which team receives the J. J. Kenneally Perpetual Memorial Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. Ken McGrath
Ken McGrath (born 20 February 1978) is an Irish hurler and hurling selector who played as a centre-back for the Waterford senior team. He joined the team in 1996 and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement in 2011. Son of former hurler Pat and older brother of former player Eoin, McGrath was a stalwart on the Waterford team for more than a decade. He has won four Munster winners' medals, one National League winners' medal and three All-Star awards. He ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level McGrath is a Munster medalist with Mount Sion. In addition to this he has also won six county club championship medals. McGrath has also served as a selector with the Waterford senior hurling management team. Eoin McGrath (born 2 November 1980) is an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Waterford senior team. He joined the team in 2002 and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement in 2012. Son of former hurler Pat and younger brother of current selector Ken, McGrath was a stalwart on the Waterford team for a decade. He has won four Munster winners' medals and one National League winners' medal. He ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level McGrath is a Munster medalist with Mount Sion.
