Pat Jones (American Football)
Erwin Patrick Jones (born November 4, 1947) is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Oklahoma State University–Stillwater from 1984 to 1994, compiling a record of 62–60–3. Jones grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he developed an intense interest in football at an early age. In junior high he was a lineman for the Forest Heights Eagles. He played guard for the Hall High Warriors and made All-State Honorable Mention in his senior year. In college, he played linebacker and nose guard at Arkansas Tech before transferring to Arkansas. Jones' coaching stops include Arkansas, SMU, Pittsburgh, and Oklahoma State where he coached Hall of Fame running backs Thurman Thomas and 1988 Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sanders. Jones served as head coach of the Oklahoma State Cowboys from 1984 to 1994 after five years as an assistant under Jimmy Johnson. Pat Jones (footballer, Born 1920)
Patrick James Jones (7 September 1920 – December 1990) was a former English professional footballer who played as a full back. Playing career Jones began his career with Astor Institute in the Plymouth area but had to wait until 1947 to play for Football League Second Division club Plymouth Argyle due to the Second World War. He made his debut against Coventry City in May 1947 and would go on to virtually monopolize the left back position for the following 10 years. Described as consistent, reliable, and honest, Jones would go on to make 441 appearances for the Pilgrims in all competitions, scoring two goals. After a distinguished career with the club, he moved into non-league football with St Austell at the age of 37. During the Sixties he ran a fish and chip shop at Challaborough near Plymouth. Patrick Samuel Jones (born 9 June 2003) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Huddersfield Town and the Wales under-21 national team. Career Born in Stockport, England, Jones started his football career at his local team Ruthin Town, before moving to Bala Town and then Wrexham in 2017. He joined the Huddersfield Town Academy in September 2019, before signing a professional contract in October 2020.
