Pat Hegarty (Gaelic Footballer)
Pat Hegarty (born 1973) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer. His league and championship career with the Cork senior team lasted from 1993 until 1998. Hegarty made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he was selected for the Cork minor team. He enjoyed two championship seasons with the minor team, culminating with the winning of an All-Ireland medal in 1991. Hegarty subsequently joined the Cork under-21, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1994. By this stage he had joined the Cork senior team after being added to the panel during the 1991 championship. An All-Ireland runner-up in 1993, Hegarty won three Munster medals. The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, bar one, since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Saturday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Munster Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The winning team is presented with the Tadhg Crowley Cup. It is the highest inter-county football competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1962 and 2016 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. It is sponsored by EirGrid. Munster Junior Football Championship
The Munster Junior Football Championship is a gaelic football tournament between the six counties of Munster: Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Waterford. It is the third-tier county teams playing off in a single-elimination tournament with 2 quarter finals instead of 4 (as of 2014). The cup was first given to the winners in 1957. Kerry have won the most titles, 42 in all. The winner will play against the champions of the other provinces in the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship. The 1995 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 109th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter county, inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 21 May 1995 and ended on 17 September 1995. Down GAA, Down entered the championship as the 1994 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, defending champions, however, they were defeated by Donegal GAA, Donegal in the Ulster preliminary round. The 1994 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 108th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The 1993 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 107th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 16 May 1993 and ended on 19 September 1993. Donegal entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Derry in the Ulster final played during a deluge in Clones.
