William Jacobs (producer)
William Jacobs (October 31, 1887 – September 30, 1953) was an American screenwriter and producer for Warner Bros. He wrote 13 Hollywood films and produced 59 more, including musicals. Early life Jacobs was born on October 31, 1887, in Chicago, Illinois. His father, Abe, was a stage manager at the Majestic Theatre in Chicago. Career Jacobs joined Warner Bros. as a screenwriter in 1934. He wrote the scripts of several movies, including ''Song of the Saddle''. From 1938 to his death, Jacobs produced movies for Warner Bros. In 1940, he was the associate producer of '' Ladies Must Live''. He was active as a producer until 1953. Joan Winfield (born Joan Marie Therese MacGillicuddy; 24 September 1918 – 16 June 1978) was an Australian-born actress and talented violinist, who appeared in Hollywood films in the 1940s, mostly in uncredited roles. She married director and writer John Meredyth Lucas in 1951. Francis Lumsden Hare (17 October 1874 – 28 August 1964) was an Irish-born film and theatre actor. He was also a theatre director and theatrical producer. Early years Hare studied at St. Dunstan's College in London. Career Hare appeared in more than 35 Broadway productions between 1900 and 1942. In 1908 he first appeared on Broadway in the hit play ''What Every Woman Knows'' starring Maude Adams. He served as director and/or producer for various productions, some starring himself. He started appearing in films in 1916. By his last screen appearance in 1961, Hare had appeared in more than 140 films and over a dozen television productions.
