Parkville, Michigan
Parkville is an unincorporated community in St. Joseph County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is in Park Township on the banks of the Portage River at . History Park Township was organized in 1838, and Parkville was laid out in 1851 by Luther Carlton and surveyed by James Hutchinson. The first lot was purchased by Mary King for ten dollars. A mill pond and races on the Portage River provided power for a woolens factory built in 1851, a saw mill, and a grist mill built in 1853. In 1877 it had the mills and factory, three churches, two blacksmiths, a tavern, and a school. The churches were Seventh-day Adventist, Presbyterian, and Methodist Episcopal. Parkville railway station is a railway station currently under construction as part of the Metro Tunnel project in Melbourne, Victoria. It will be built below Grattan Street between Leicester and Elizabeth Streets. The station has been built using the cut-and-cover method. Construction commenced in 2018 with the station due to open in 2025. It will serve the large health and education precinct in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, including the University of Melbourne, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Women's Hospital. It is set to be an interchange between the Metro Tunnel and the proposed Metro Tunnel 2, and provisions have been left in the design of the station to allow for this. Parkville (known as Park Street during early planning) is a bus rapid transit station on the CTfastrak line, located near the intersection of Park Street and Francis Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut.
