Parkinson's Sunday Supplement
''Parkinson's Sunday Supplement'' was the incarnation of the Sunday morning programme on BBC Radio 2, between 31 March 1996 and 2 December 2007. It was presented by the journalist and broadcaster Michael Parkinson. The programme featured newspaper reviews and entertainment summaries with the help of journalists and a lengthy interview with a media personality. Show format The programme began after the 11:00am news and was introduced by Parkinson who would outline some of the features that would be on that morning's show. These would usually be a review of the Sunday papers with a guest; a round-up of the week's entertainment news in the world of film, radio, television, music and the arts, also with a guest reviewer; and after the Midday news, an interview with a media personality from the worlds of entertainment, arts, sport and music. Joe Williams (jazz Singer)
Joe Williams (born Joseph Goreed; December 12, 1918 – March 29, 1999) was an American jazz singer. He sang with big bands such as the Count Basie Orchestra and the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and with his combos. He sang in two films with the Basie orchestra and sometimes worked as an actor. Life Williams was born in Cordele, Georgia, the son of Willie Goreed and Anne Beatrice ''née'' Gilbert. When he was about three, his mother and grandmother took him to Chicago. He grew up on the South Side, Chicago, South Side of Chicago, where he attended Austin Otis Sexton Elementary School and Englewood Technical Prep Academy, Englewood High School. Michael Ball
Michael Ashley Ball (born 27 June 1962) is an English singer, presenter and actor. He made his West End debut in 1985 playing Marius Pontmercy in the original London production of ''Les Misérables'', and went on to star in 1987 as Raoul in ''The Phantom of the Opera''. Radio Academy Awards
The Radio Academy Awards, started in 1983, were the most prestigious awards in the British radio industry. For most of their existence, they were run by ZAFER Associates, but in latter years were brought under the control of The Radio Academy. The awards were generally referred to by the name of their first sponsor, Sony, as The Sony Awards, The Sony Radio Awards or variations. In August 2013, Sony announced the end of its sponsorship agreement with The Radio Academy after 32 years. Consequently, the awards were named simply ''The Radio Academy Awards''. In November 2014, it was announced that The Radio Academy would not be holding the awards in 2015, and would be looking for other ways to recognise achievement in the future. Quentin Cooper (born 1961, Grimsby) is a science journalist and facilitator, who presented BBC Radio 4's '' Material World'' from 2000 to 2013. Gillian Reynolds
Gillian Reynolds (née Morton; born 15 November 1935) is an English radio critic. After writing for ''The Guardian'' from 1967 to 1974, she was the radio critic for ''The Daily Telegraph'' for over 42 years, from 1975 to 2018. She then continued her career at ''The Sunday Times'', where she wrote about radio until 2021. Early life Morton's father was a seaman while her mother was a market trader. ''The Guardian'' is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in 1821 as ''The Manchester Guardian'', and changed its name in 1959. The ''New Statesman'' is a British political and cultural magazine published in London. Founded as a weekly review of politics and literature on 12 April 1913, it was at first connected with Sidney and Beatrice Webb and other leading members of the socialist Fabian Society, such as George Bernard Shaw, who was a founding director.
