Parco Naturale Regionale Delle Alpi Liguri
The Regional Natural Park of the Ligurian Alps (in Italian ''Parco Naturale Regionale delle Alpi Liguri'') is a natural park in Province of Imperia (Liguria, Italy). It was established in 2007 by the '' legge regionale'' nr.34 of 15/11/2007. Geography Situated in the inland of Ventimiglia and Sanremo area, the regional park protects some of the most beautiful and important areas of the Ligurian Alps. The protected territory, over , includes four separate areas, each with its particular features: * ''Zona di Pian Cavallo'': located in the North of the park along the border with Piemonte, it includes the ''Bosco delle Navette'' (a well known conifers and beech forest) and some natural caves. * ''Dorsale Monte del Monte Saccarello - Monte Frontè - Monte Monega'': is the highest part of the park with wide grazing areas. * ''Comprensorio del Monte Gerbonte - M. Cima Garlenda
Cima Garlenda is a mountain of the Ligurian Alps, in Italy. After Monte Saccarello and Monte Frontè it is the third Ligurian summit. Geography The mountain is located in the province of Imperia, in Liguria. In the SOIUSA (''International Standardized Mountain Subdivision of the Alps'') it belongs to the ''Nodo del Monte Saccarello'' (SOIUSA code: I/A-1.II-A.1.a). Cima Garlenda is located on the main chain of the Alps between Tanaro and Arroscia valleys, and is divided from the neighbouring Monte Frontè by Passo Frontè (). History The slopes of Cima Garlenda were deforested during past centuries in order to increase pasture land. The lower part of the mountain was mainly used by cattle while is upper part was mainly grazed by sheep and goats. The slopes of the mountain belonging to Arroscia Valley are still used for grazing. Monte Monega
Monte Monega is a mountain of the Ligurian Alps, in Italy. Geography The mountain belongs to the province of Imperia, in Liguria. In the SOIUSA (''International Standardized Mountain Subdivision of the Alps'') it belongs to the ''Nodo del Monte Saccarello'' group and ''Costiera Monega- Carmo di Brocchi'' subgroup (SOIUSA code: I/A-1.II-A.1.b). Monte Monega is the tripoint where the valleys of Argentina, Giara di Rezzo and Arroscia meet. Also the territories of three comuni (Montegrosso Pian Latte, Rezzo and Molini di Triora) meet on the top of the mountain, which is marked by a Summit cross. Barbaira (river)
The Barbaira is a stream of Liguria (Italy); it is the main tributary of the Nervia. Geography The stream rises between punta dell'Arpetta and monte Simonasso, in the Ligurian Alps, and flows through a woody valley mainly heading south-east. When it reaches the centre of the Italian commune, comune of Rocchetta Nervina it gets from left side the waters of its main tributary, rio Oggia. It enters the Nervia at ''ponte Barbaira'' (71 m).
