George Peasgood
George Peasgood (born 2 October 1995) is a British paratriathlete who competes in the PTS5 classification. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, where he finished seventh. Peasgood has won the GBR Paratriathlon National Championships four times- 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019. George Peasgood is based in Loughborough, England where he trains at the Loughborough Performance Centre. He was born in Saffron Walden, Essex. Career Peasgood first started triathlon in 2009 following a leg lengthening operation. In 2011, he was classified as a Paratriathlete at a British Triathlon Federation, British Triathlon Talent ID day. Peasgood won his first major medal in 2013 winning bronze at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final London and silver at the GBR Paratriathlon National Championships. Stefan Daniel is a 2nd team All Canadian in USPORT Cross Country while competing for the University of Calgary, Dinos. Paratriathlon at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, took place at the Odaiba Marine Park. It was the second time that paratriathlon was be scheduled in the Paralympics. Eight events were contested (four events for men and women each); two more events than previously contested at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. The race course consisted of a 750m swim, 20 km bike ride and 5 km run, the swimming part of the race took place at the Odaiba Bay while the cycling and running courses traveled through the West Promenade district of Odaiba, featuring waterfalls and public gardens. The 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They kept the 2020 name and were held from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Paratriathlon Classification
Paratriathlon classification is the classification system for athletes participating in paratriathlon. It is governed by the World Triathlon (formerly known as ITU) The sport has been included in the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Classification system from 2017 World Triathlon has implemented some modifications to the classification system that was introduced in 2014 after further research was conducted to address certain aspects of the previous system. The research project is an ongoing project for both physical and vision impairments. Paratriathlon groups athletes into nine sport classes, based on three types of impairment, that compete in six medal events. Originally scheduled to take place from 25 August to 6 September 2020, both the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics were postponed by a year in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the rescheduled Games still referred to as ''Tokyo 2020'' for marketing and branding purposes. As with the Olympics, the Games were largely held behind closed doors with no outside spectators due to a state of emergency in the Greater Tokyo Area and other prefectures.
