Wheelchair basketball has been contested at the Summer Paralympics since the 1960 Summer Paralympics in Rome. Lawn Bowls At The Summer Paralympics
Lawn bowls has been contested at Summer Paralympics on six occasions, first appearing on the schedule in 1968 and having its most recent outing at the 1996 games. The competitions were initially divided by sex, with singles and doubles events for men and women. In 1976, divisions by disability category were introduced, greatly expanding the number of events and medals. Participation peaked at the 1976 edition, with 80 entrants from 13 countries competing in 16 events. Dartchery At The Summer Paralympics
Dartchery (a combination of darts and archery which uses a dart board instead of a standard archery target) was contested at the Summer Paralympic Games from 1960 to 1980. Competitions were carried out in pairs: mixed pairs from 1960 to 1980, and men's pairs and women's pairs from 1972 to 1980. Though the participants and results have, for the most part, been recorded by the International Paralympic Committee, the scores obtained by competitors have not. Results by Games 1960 Dartchery was one of the eight sports contested at the inaugural Paralympic Games in Rome in 1960. Only three pairs of athletes competed, and therefore all won a medal. Jack Whitman and Wayne Broeren of the United States defeated their compatriots Jim Mathis and John Tigyer, as well as French competitors Camille Trouverie and Bernabei, to win gold. Para-archery has been contested at every Summer Paralympic Games since they were first held in 1960. Separate individual and team events are held for men and women.
