Papá Soltero
''Papá soltero'' (Single Father) is a Mexican television comedy series produced by Luis de Llano Macedo from 1987 to 1994. It starred singer César Costa as well as actors Gerardo Quiroz, Edith Márquez and Luis Mario Quiroz, Jorge Pablo Carrillo. Synopsis César Costa plays a fictionalized version of himself, the head of a middle-high class family who happens to be a single father, hence the name of the show. He has two sons and a daughter: Miguel (Gerardo Quiroz), the eldest, Alejandra (Edith Márquez) and Cesarín (Luis Mario Quiroz), the youngest. They have a strong relationship with their maid Gumara (Aurora Alonso). They live in an apartment where they befriend their apartment building's handyman known as "Pocholo" (José Luis Cordero) and Juan (Juan Peláez/Octavio Galindo), their womanizing neighbor who repeatedly gets others into trouble. César Costa
César Roel Schreurs, best known as César Costa, is a Mexican actor and rock-and-roll singer. Costa was born in Colonia Condesa of the Mexican capital. He studied elementary and Junior Highschool at the German College and Law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Music career He started his musical career at the age of 17 as César Roel singing and playing guitar with the rock-and-roll band '' Los Black Jeans'' ("The Black Jeans"), singing Spanish versions of American hit singles as well as original songs like ''La batalla de Jericó''. They recorded their first album in 1959 with ''Peerless Records''. His backup singer was world-renowned tenor Plácido Domingo. When the band signed with ''Musart Records'' the band changed its name to '' Los Camisas Negras'' ("The Black Shirts") and César Roel to ''Cesar Costa'' (honoring music arranger Don Costa). Edith Márquez
Edith Márquez Landa (; born 27 January 1973) is a Mexican singer and actress. Life She is a dramatic mezzo-soprano. She started her professional career by winning the television musical contests "Juguemos a cantar" (1978) and "Canta, Canta" (1984). She later attended some courses in the Artistic Educational Training Centre of Televisa and she was a member of the musical band Timbiriche. She has taken part in several soap operas and she represented Mexico in 2001 Viña del Mar International Song Festival. In 2003, she became the first member of Timbiriche to have her handprints imbedded onto the Paseo de las Luminarias in her hometown of Mexico City. Her handprints were imbedded for her work in television and as a recording artist. Claudia de Guadalupe Silva Zamora (born October 9, 1972 in Mexico City) is a Mexican actress and writer. She is perhaps best known for her role of "Sandra" (also known as "Sandy" and "Sandunga") on the 1994 Televisa television telenovela " Volver a Empezar", for which she received a nomination at the 1995 Premios TVyNovelas as the best feminine revelation of the year. She is also a radio show host and a book writer. Early life Silva was born in Mexico City. When she was only fourteen years old, Silva debuted on Mexican television, acting in Televisa's sitcom, "Papá soltero" ("Single Dad"), where she participated in several episodes.
