Palu
Palu, which is officially known as the City of Palu (Indonesian: ''Kota Palu''), is the capital and largest city of Central Sulawesi. Palu is located on the northwestern coast of Sulawesi and borders Donggala Regency to the north and west, Parigi Moutong Regency to the east, and Sigi Regency to the south. The city boundaries encompass a land area of . According to the 2020 Indonesian census, Palu has a population of 373,218, making it the third-most populous city on the island after Makassar and Manado; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 377,030. Palu is the center of finance, government, and education in Central Sulawesi, as well as one of several major cities on the island. ''Manilkara hexandra'' is a tree species in the tribe Sapoteae, in the family Sapotaceae. It is native to much of south Asia (China: Hainan and southern Guangxi provinces; the Indian subcontinent: Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka; Indo-China: Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The Progressive Workers' and Farmers' Union ( nl, Progressieve Arbeiders- en Landbouwersunie), widely known by its abbreviation PALU, is a leftist Surinamese political party founded on 12 March 1977. History The party has its origins in the pressure group by the same name founded in 1973. This group founded a political party in early 1977 to participate in the Surinamese general election of 1977. After the 1980 Surinamese coup d'état the party tried to steer the revolt into the direction of a workers' revolution. Unified Lumumbist Party
Unified Lumumbist Party (french: Parti Lumumbiste Unifié or ''PALU'') is a political party in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The party's name comes from Patrice Lumumba, the first prime minister of Congo after its independence in 1960 from the Belgian colonial empire. It was led by Antoine Gizenga who placed third in the 2006 general election. Gizenga backed the incumbent president Joseph Kabila in the runoff election, and was subsequently named prime minister in December 2006. PALU also won 34 out of 500 seats in the new parliament and became the third largest party. In the 2007 senate election, the party won only 2 out of 108 seats. Gizenga resigned as Prime Minister on 25 September 2008 for reasons related to age and health, and on 10 October 2008 Adolphe Muzito, another member of PALU who had served as Budget Minister under Gizenga, was appointed to succeed him. Wycliff Palu (born 27 July 1982), known as Cliffy Palu, is an Australian former professional rugby union footballer of Tongan descent. He played for the New South Wales Waratahs in Super Rugby and represented in 58 tests. Early life Palu was born in Sydney. His mother was Keta Iongi, a Tongan sprinter who won several gold medals at the South Pacific Games. He attended Balgowlah Boys High School. Louie Palu (born 1968) is a Canadian documentary photographer and filmmaker known for covering social-political issues, including war and human rights. His first major body of work was ''Cage Call: Life and Death in the Hard Rock Mining Belt'' with writer Charlie Angus, followed by working for ''The Globe and Mail'' for 6 years as a staff photographer (2001–2007). In addition to this, he covered the war in Kandahar, Afghanistan, between 2006 and 2010 and the drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border between 2011 and 2012.
