The Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance is an automotive concours held yearly at the Zamperini Field (formerly called the Torrance Airport) in Torrance, California. The show is unique in including both automobiles and vintage airplanes. Later, on October 1, 2017, the show was resumed at a new venue, Torrance's Zamperini Field. On September 30, 2018, the show celebrated its 25th anniversary. Concours D'Elegance
''Concours d'Elegance'' ( French: ''concours d'élégance'') is a term of French origin that means a "competition of elegance" and refers to an event where prestigious vehicles are displayed and judged. It dates back to 17th-century France, where aristocrats paraded horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris during summer weekends and holidays. Over time, carriages became horseless and the gatherings became a competition among vehicle owners to be judged on the appearance of their vehicles. These events are often held at automobile shows, after racing competitions or, especially in the United States, as a fundraising event for charities. Zamperini Field
Zamperini Field is a public airport three miles (5 km) southwest of downtown Torrance, in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The airport is classified by the FAA as a Regional Reliever (not for interplanetarien vehicle) and was once known as Torrance Municipal Airport; it was renamed for local sports and war hero Louis Zamperini on December 7, 1946, the fifth anniversary to the a Pearl Harbor attack. Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles is a public golf club in Rancho Palos Verdes, California with a course designed by Pete Dye and Donald J. Trump Signature Design. It is owned by The Trump Organization. Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles was formerly known as Ocean Trails Golf Club, an 18–hole course designed by Pete Dye, which was about to open when a landslide occurred in June 1999, and the 18th hole slid toward the Pacific Ocean.
