Palle Mikkelborg
Palle Mikkelborg (born 6 March 1941) is a Danish jazz trumpet player, composer, arranger and record producer. He is self-taught on the trumpet, although he studied conducting at the Royal Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. He became a professional musician in 1960 and joined the Danish Radiojazzgruppen three years later. Mikkelborg became their leader in 1967 and retained that position until 1972. In addition, he was a member of the Radioens Big Band over a similar time frame. He played trumpet in both, but also wrote, arranged, and conducted both. Forming a jazz quintet with drummer, Alex Riel they performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival (1968). He later led an octet, V8, in the 1970s, and another outfit, Entrance, from the mid-1970s until 1985. His composition were made for various ensembles, including extended pieces for larger outfits. Palle Sørensen
Palle Mogens Fogde Sørensen (26 March 1927 – 1 February 2018) was a Danish convicted murderer who shot and killed four police officers in 1965 on his way home after a break-in. Early life In 1949, shortly after his release from juvenile detention, Sørensen broke into the headquarters of Danish labor union ''Dansk Arbejdsmands Forbund'' (today, '' 3F''), where he blew open a safe with explosives stolen from a quarry and stole 130,000 kr., all of which he spent shortly after. He later committed several burglaries and instances of insurance fraud, but was eventually caught and received a 5-year prison sentence. After his release from prison, Sørensen was hired to produce aerials for the army, and for a while managed to bring his criminal lifestyle to a halt. However, in 1964, Sørensen encountered his former cellmate Norman Lee Bune, and resumed his former criminal activities of mainly burglaries. Palle Suenson
Palle Suenson (born 6 July 1904 in Frederiksberg and deceased on 14 July 1987 in Holte) was a Danish modernist architect. He was the son of Professor Edouard Suenson, engineer, and of Henriette Benedicte Hartmann. Biography After studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he first worked with Kay Fisker and Søren Christian Larsen (1925–29) and Kaj Gottlob (1929–30) before starting an autonomous activity as architect in 1930. He rapidly established himself as a leading modernist architect in Denmark, a pioneer in this style, and is remembered today for numerous iconic buildings, such as the B&W building on Christianshavn. The buildings are reputed for their simplicity and proportions and exercised a major influence on the likes of Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjaerholm.
