The Pakistan national baseball team ( ur, ) is the National sports team, national team representing Pakistan in international baseball tournaments and competitions. The team is controlled and governed by the Pakistan Federation Baseball, which is represented in the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA), having been ranked #5 in Asia, just behind China national baseball team, China. They are ranked as the top and one of the most successful baseball teams in South Asia, winning the first SAARC Baseball Championship 8–2 against Sri Lanka national baseball team, Sri Lanka in 2011. As of 2023, Pakistan is WBSC World Rankings, currently ranked 38th in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. Asian Baseball Championship
The Asian Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Asia, governed by the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA). It is held every other year in odd-numbered years and since 1983 it also functions as the qualification games for the Baseball at the Summer Olympics if the event year is exactly one year before the Olympics. In even-numbered years, the Asian Baseball Cup is held, to determine two qualifiers — one from the Eastern Division and one from the Western Division — to join teams from China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. Cricket In Pakistan
The history of cricket in Pakistan predates the creation of the country in 1947. The first international cricket match in what is now Pakistan today was held in Karachi on 22 November 1935 between Sindh and Australia (see Figure 1). The match was seen by 5,000 Karachiites. Cricket was introduced by the British during their colonial rule of British India, which covered the area now known as Pakistan. Cricket is the most popular sport in the country. 2017 World Baseball Classic – Qualifier 4
Qualifier 4 of the Qualifying Round of the 2017 World Baseball Classic was held at MCU Park, Brooklyn, New York, United States from September 22 to 25, 2016. It was won by Team Israel, which went on to play in the World Baseball Classic in March 2017. Qualifier 4 was a modified double-elimination tournament. The winners of the first games, Israel and Brazil, matched up in the second game, which Israel won. Meanwhile, the losers, Great Britain and Pakistan, faced each other in an elimination game, which Great Britain won. 2017 World Baseball Classic – Qualification
The World Baseball Classic qualification, Qualifying Round of the 2017 World Baseball Classic was held from February 11 to September 25, 2016. Teams which participated at the 2013 World Baseball Classic were automatically qualified for the 2017 tournament except the four nations which ended up last in their respective groups: Australia national baseball team, Australia, Brazil national baseball team, Brazil, Mexico national baseball team, Mexico, and Spain national baseball team, Spain had to play in the qualifiers along with 12 other national teams. 16 teams participated, divided into four groups of four teams each. World Baseball Classic
The World Baseball Classic (WBC) is an international baseball tournament sanctioned from 2006 to 2013 by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and after 2013 by World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) in partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB). It was proposed to the IBAF by Major League Baseball (MLB), the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), and other professional baseball leagues and their players associations around the world.
