Pakistan Television cricket team was a first-class cricket team sponsored by the Pakistan Television Corporation. They competed in Pakistan's first-class, List A and Twenty20 tournaments between the 2010-11 and 2018-19 seasons. After playing for some seasons in the non-first-class grades of the Patron's Trophy, Pakistan Television were promoted to first-class status to play in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in the 2010–11 season. They played 9 matches, winning 3, losing 2 and drawing 4, and finished sixth out of 10 teams in Division Two. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. List A Cricket
List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Together with first-class and Twenty20 cricket, List A is one of the three major forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Patron's Trophy
The Patron's Trophy was a cricket competition that was held in Pakistan between 1960–61 and 2018–19 mainly among teams representing the government and semi-government departments, corporations, commercial organisations, business houses, banks, airlines, and educational institutions. Matches in the competition were afforded first-class status in most seasons until 2006–07, when the domestic first-class competition was reorganised and merged into the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). From then on, the Patron's Trophy was a Grade II competition until a major reorganisation of domestic cricket in 2019 brought an end to the competition. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly. Awais Zia (; born 1 September 1986) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is primarily a left handed batsman and right arm off spin bowler. Domestic and franchise career As a youngster, Zia got introduced to the game playing street cricket in his village of Bhaun, before playing club cricket in Chakwal. Zia was encouraged to attend local trials, where he came to the attention of Jhelum coaches, who offered him a place in the Jhelum team. He accepted their offer and started playing for Jhelum district and then Grade 2 cricket, before finally getting his chance in first-class cricket for the Rawalpindi cricket team in 2007. He met his number one fan named Abbas Ali Bohari. He has played 35 first-class and 19 list-A matches. State Bank Of Pakistan Cricket Team
State Bank of Pakistan cricket team was a first-class cricket team sponsored by the State Bank of Pakistan. They competed in Pakistan's first-class List A and Twenty20 tournaments. 1980s State Bank of Pakistan made their first-class debut (along with Pakistan Automobiles Corporation) in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1983-84, but lost all their nine matches. In a bizarre match against Muslim Commercial Bank they were dismissed for 73 and 57. ''Wisden'' explained: "Owing to injuries State Bank batted six short in each innings." Apart from that match, their last one of the season, they were dismissed for between 114 and 255 in every innings. In the first match Tariq Javed scored 124 in the second innings. 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 60th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and took place from 26 September to 25 December 2017, spanning almost two weeks less than originally planned. Pakistan's former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was critical of the compressed schedule and the quality of the pitches saying "it takes time to prepare a good pitch for a game and nobody can make it in two days". Khan Research Laboratories Cricket Team
Khan Research Laboratories was a Pakistani first-class cricket side who played in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, and also competed in limited overs cricket. It was sponsored by Pakistani nuclear enrichment facility Khan Research Laboratories (KRL). They have played first-class cricket since the 1997–98 season. After the completion of the 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, they had played 171 matches, with 61 wins, 40 losses and 70 draws. Their home ground is KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi. In May 2019, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan revamped the domestic cricket structure in Pakistan, excluding departmental teams in favour of regional sides, therefore ending the participation of the team.
