Pai (fish Trap)
Pai (पाई) or sometimes called Pahi (पाही) is a fish trap fabricated by using ''Thakal daantha'' (थाकलकॊ डाॅठ) and ''Beshram'' (बेश्रम)/''byaye'' (व्याय)/''ajambari'' (अजम्बरी) thoroughly knitting with rope to make large rectangular sheets suitable for the filtration of water and it is mainly famous in Tharu, Kumal and Majhihttp://www.pantribalconfederacy.com/majhi/introduction.php communities of western Nepal. Knitted sheets of their desired length and width are fixed in river of sharp current with the help of strong and large wooden nails (''Kila''). Tharu People
The Tharu people are an ethnic group indigenous to the Terai in southern Nepal and northern India. They speak Tharu languages. They are recognized as an official nationality by the Government of Nepal. In the Indian Terai, they live foremost in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The Government of India recognizes the Tharu people as a scheduled tribe. Etymology The word (''thāru'') is thought to be derived from '' sthavir'' meaning follower of Theravada Buddhism. Majha ( Punjabi: ਮਾਝਾ (Gurmukhi), (Shahmukhi); ''Mājhā'') is a region located in the central parts of the historical Punjab region split between India and Pakistan. Filtration
