''Padroni di casa'' (also known as ''Homeowners'' and ''The Landlords'') is a 2012 Italian drama film directed by Edoardo Gabbriellini. It entered the competition at the 2012 Locarno International Film Festival. Plot Cosimo and Elia are two tilers from Rome commissioned by the singer Fausto Mieli to repaving the terrace of his house. A very successful singer, Fausto has chosen to retire from the stage following a serious illness of his wife Moira confined to a wheelchair. Despite the great displays of affection, it is clear that there is something wrong between Fausto and Moira. Edoardo Gabbriellini (born 16 July 1975) is an Italian actor, screenwriter, and director. Life and career Born in Livorno, at 18 years old Gabbriellini was chosen by Paolo Virzì to star in his film ''Ovosodo''. For his performance he won the Pasinetti Award for best actor at the 54th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, and subsequently left his studies to devote himself to acting. Cesare Cremonini (; born 27 March 1980) is an Italian singer-songwriter and actor. Cremonini was the leader of Lùnapop, a successful and popular Italian pop band between 1999 and 2002. The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival, held every August in Locarno, Switzerland. Founded in 1946, the festival screens films in various competitive and non-competitive sections, including feature-length narrative, documentary, short, avant-garde, and retrospective programs. Gianni Morandi (; born 11 December 1944) is an Italian pop singer, actor and entertainer. Early life Gian Luigi Morandi was born in a little village called Monghidoro on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
