Paddy O'Rourke (association Footballer)
Patrick O'Rourke (1 January 1934 17 January 2011) was an Irish professional footballer who played as an forward in the League of Ireland, most notably for St Patrick's Athletic. O'Rourke was brought up in the Inchicore neighbourhood of west Dublin and played youth football for local side Bulfin United. In 1953 he signed for League of Ireland outfit St Patrick's Athletic, also located in the Inchicore area. With the Saints, O'Rourke would win two league championships and two FAI Cups. The 1955-56 League season would see O'Rourke and strike partner Shay Gibbons net a combined haul of 38 goals for the Saints. In 1958, he won two caps for the Ireland B team, one at home against South Africa B and the other away to Iceland. On 12 September 1961, O'Rourke was Pats only goalscorer in a 4-1 loss away to Dunfermline Athletic in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. In January 2011 St Patrick's Athletic announced the death of O'Rourke. The South Africa national under-23 football team is a youth football (soccer) team, which represents South Africa and is controlled by the South African Football Association, the governing body for football in South Africa. The team's main objectives are to qualify and play at the All-Africa Games and Olympic Games. The team has played at three All-Africa Games and one Olympic tournament. Players who are selected, will be 23 or younger in the following Olympic year. With the next Olympics being held in London in 2012, players need to have been born on or after 1 January 1989. St Patrick's Athletic
St Patrick's Athletic Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Lúthchleas Phádraig Naofa) is a professional Irish association football club based in Inchicore, Dublin, that plays in the Irish Premier Division. Founded in May 1929, they played originally in Phoenix Park but they moved to their current ground Richmond Park in 1939. St Patrick's Athletic have won many trophies in Irish Club Football, including eight League Titles, the fifth most in Irish Football, as well as four FAI Cups and four League Cups. The current manager is Tim Clancy, who took over in December 2021. The club graduated through the ranks of the Leinster Senior League and duly took their place in the League of Ireland in 1951, and won the Championship at their first attempt. Dunfermline Athletic Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the city of Dunfermline, Fife. Founded in 1885, the club currently play in Scottish League One after being relegated from the 2021–22 Scottish Championship. Dunfermline play at East End Park, are nicknamed The Pars and are currently managed by James McPake.
