Package Diagram
A package diagram in the Unified Modeling Language depicts the dependencies between the packages that make up a model. Overview In addition to the standard UML Dependency relationship, there are two special types of dependencies defined between packages: * package import * package merge A ''package import'' is "a relationship between an importing namespace and a package, indicating that the importing namespace adds the names of the members of the package to its own namespace." By default, an unlabeled dependency between two packages is interpreted as a package import relationship. In this relationship, elements within the target package will be imported into the source package. A ''package merge'' is "a directed relationship between two packages, that indicates that the contents of the two packages are to be combined. It is very similar to Generalisation in the sense that the source element conceptually adds the characteristics of the target element to its own characteristics ...

Deployment Model Structure
Deployment may refer to: Engineering and software Concepts * Blue-green deployment, a method of installing changes to a web, app, or database server by swapping alternating production and staging servers * Continuous deployment, a software engineering approach where software functionality is delivered frequently and through automated deployments * IPv6 deployment, a deployment of the latest generation Internet Protocol which has been in progress since the mid-2000s * IT infrastructure deployment, a sequence of operations carried to deliver changes into a target system environment * Deployment descriptor, a configuration file for an artifact that is deployed to some container/engine * Deployment diagram, a concept in the Unified Modeling Language * Deployment environment, a computer system in which a computer program or software component is deployed and executed * Deployment flowchart, a process mapping tool used to articulate the steps and stakeholders of a given process * Sof ...

Unified Modeling Language
The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a general-purpose, developmental modeling language in the field of software engineering that is intended to provide a standard way to visualize the design of a system. The creation of UML was originally motivated by the desire to standardize the disparate notational systems and approaches to software design. It was developed at Rational Software in 1994–1995, with further development led by them through 1996. In 1997, UML was adopted as a standard by the Object Management Group (OMG), and has been managed by this organization ever since. In 2005, UML was also published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as an approved ISO standard. Since then the standard has been periodically revised to cover the latest revision of UML. In software engineering, most practitioners do not use UML, but instead produce informal hand drawn diagrams; these diagrams, however, often include elements from UML. History Before UML 1 ...

Dependency (UML)
In the Unified Modeling Language (UML), a Dependency is a relationship that shows that an element, or set of elements, requires other model elements for their specification or implementation.OMG Unified Modeling Language, Superstructure, Version 2.4.1 The element is ''dependent'' upon the independent element, called the supplier. Two or more elements in this relationship are called tuples. In the UML, this is indicated by a dashed line pointing from the dependent (or client) to the independent (or supplier) element. The arrow representing a Dependency specifies the direction of a relationship, not the direction of a process. Standard predefined dependencies UML - defined dependencies include : * «call2» UML2: The client (an operation) may call the supplier (an operation) * «create» UML2: The client (a classifier) may create instances of the supplier (a classifier) * «derive» UML2: The client (e.g., attribute value, link) may be computed from the suppli ...

Package (UML)
A package in the Unified Modeling Language is used "to group elements, and to provide a namespace for the grouped elements".OMG Unified Modeling Language (OMG UML), Infrastructure, V2.1.1
p.158. A package may contain other packages, thus providing for a hierarchical organization of packages. Pretty much all UML elements can be grouped into packages. Thus, classes, objects, s, components, nodes, node instances etc. can all be organized as packages, thus enabling a manageable organization of the myriad ...
