PLAY - Portuguese Music Awards ( pt: PLAY - Prémios da Música Portuguesa) are annual awards for the Portuguese music scene, sponsored by Vodafone. The first edition took place at Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon on 9 April 2019 and was broadcast by RTP, presented by Filomena Cautela and Inês Lopes Gonçalves. Marlene Fernanda Cardoso Tavares (born 19 November 2002), known by her stage name Nenny, is a Portuguese singer-songwriter and rapper. Early life She was born in Vialonga, Portugal to Cape verdean parents. At 9 years old she started writing her own songs. At 11 she went to live in Creil, France and later on Drancy where she lived alone with her mother, which later on she would write a song about. Deolinda () were an acoustic Portugal, Portuguese "neofado" group, whose music often deals with social and political commentary. Founded in 2006, their first album was released in 2008, which went double platinum. Their second was in the top ten in Portugal for over fifteen weeks. They have toured the United States, Canada, and Europe and have played at festivals such as the World Music Expo, Mawazine and the Festival Internacional Cervantino. Aldina Maria Miguel Duarte (born 22 July 1967) is a Portuguese fado singer, lyricist, and researcher. She has dedicated herself to the traditional Fado repertoire, having been described as a "hardcore fadista". Many fadistas have sung her lyrics, including Camané, Joana Amendoeira, António Zambujo, Pedro Moutinho, and Mariza. Life and work Duarte was born in Lisbon, where she grew up in the social housing projects at Chelas, during the Estado Novo dictatorship. Helena Maria de Jesus Águas (born 16 June 1956), known professionally as Lena d'Água, is a Portuguese singer. Biography Lena d'Água was born in Lisbon. In 1973 she enrolled briefly in Sociology but, as the 25 April 1974, Carnation Revolution came to fruition, she left university and joined a theatre group, later majoring in Education. Diogo Piçarra (born 19 October 1990) is a Portuguese singer. He rose to fame after winning the fifth season of '' Ídolos'', the Portuguese version of ''Pop Idol'' in 2012. António José Rodeia Zambujo (born September 1975) is a Portuguese singer and songwriter. One of the characteristic qualities of his music is the presence of Cante Alentejano, a regional genre that influenced him while growing up in Beja.
