PFAI Players' Player Of The Year
The Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland Players' Player of the Year (often called the PFAI Players' Player of the Year, the Players' Player of the Year, or simply the Irish Player of the Year) award is given to the footballer the League of Ireland Premier Division, who is seen to have been the best player of the previous season. The shortlist is compiled by the members of the Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland (the PFAI), and then the winner is voted for by the other players in the league. The prize is regarded as the highest awarded by the PFAI and is seen as the primary "Player of the Year" award in Ireland. The award was first given in 1981, and was won by Athlone Town player Padraig O'Connor. The latest winner of the award is Rory Gaffney of Shamrock Rovers. The 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 33rd season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league began on Friday 24 February 2017 and concluded on 27 October 2017. Mark Quigley
Mark Quigley (born 27 October 1985) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for Millwall, Shamrock Rovers (over 2 spells), St Patrick's Athletic (over 2 spells), Bohemians (over 2 spells), Dundalk, Sligo Rovers and Derry City. Career Quigley came to prominence as a schoolboy with noted Dublin club Belvedere from where he signed for Millwall in 2003. He made his Football League debut as a substitute against Stoke City on 19 February 2005. Killian Brennan
Killian Brennan (born 31 January 1984) is an Irish retired footballer who played as a midfielder in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Career Early career Noted for his wing play and ability to fire in accurate crosses, Brennan was signed by Peterborough United in his teenage years. In 2004, he was capped several times for the Republic of Ireland under-19s, before moving back to play in the League of Ireland. He was signed by John Gill for Dublin City, however, less than a year later, newly appointed boss Roddy Collins' 'purge' of the club meant that Brennan was deemed surplus to requirements. Christopher Joseph Fagan (born 11 May 1989), known as Chris or Christy Fagan, is a retired Irish footballer who played as a forward. He last played for St Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Club career Born in Dublin, County Dublin, Fagan began his career as a youth player with St. Anthony's Boys and Home Farm in his native Dublin before signing schoolboy forms with Manchester United in 2005 at the age of 15. Richard Patrick Towell (born 17 July 1991) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League of Ireland Premier Division club Shamrock Rovers. Towell started his career with Scottish club Celtic and made his debut in the first half of the 2010–11 season. He then had two loan spells with Hibernian before leaving Celtic in 2012. Daryl Horgan
Daryl Jeremiah Horgan (born 10 August 1992) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a winger for League Two club Stevenage on loan from Wycombe Wanderers and the Republic of Ireland national team. Horgan was born in Galway and played youth football with Salthill Devon. He began his career with Salthill in 2010 in the League of Ireland First Division before starting his professional career with Sligo Rovers the following year.
