P.B. Jayasundera
Punchi Banda Jayasundara is a Sri Lankan economist. He was the former Secretary to the President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Secretary of the Treasury on multiple occasions. Education He was a past pupil of Maliyadeva College in Kurunegala and Jayasundera was graduated from University of Sri Lanka, Colombo in 1973 with a BA in Economics, he also gained Masters in Development Economics from Williams College in 1980 and a PhD in Economics from Boston University in 1984. Career Central Bank He joined the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as an economist in 1974 and was later promoted to the senior economist in the 1980s following his postgraduate studies in the United States. A sovereign default is the failure or refusal of the government of a sovereign state to pay back its debt in full when due. Cessation of due payments (or receivables) may either be accompanied by that government's formal declaration that it will not pay (or only partially pay) its debts (repudiation), or it may be unannounced. A credit rating agency will take into account in its gradings capital, interest, extraneous and procedural defaults, and failures to abide by the terms of bonds or other debt instruments. Countries have at times escaped some of the real burden of their debt through inflation. Ajith Nivard Cabraal ( si, අජිත් නිවාඩ් කබ්රාල්) (born 14 December 1954) is a Sri Lankan accountant and politician who was also the 16th Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
