P. S. Sreenivasan
P. S. Sreenivasan (September 1923 – 8 July 1997) was a leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and a former minister of Kerala state, He is known as the Father of Tourism in Modern Kerala. He was born at Ullala in September 1923 as son of Shri Koppuzha K. Krishnan. He entered politics through student movements and the State Congress, joining the CPI in 1943. During the period of C. P. Ramaswamy's government he was imprisoned for 16 months, later followed by a further three years of imprisonment. Despite this he played an important role in the growth of CPI in Kerala. He was elected to Kerala Assembly in 1960, 1967 and 1970 from Vaikom constituency as a CPI candidate. In 1977 he was elected from Aroor, and in 1980 from Cherthalai. Again, he was elected in 1987 and 1991 from Karunagappally constituency. Smt. Bharathy is his wife and they have one son. Communist Party of India (CPI) is the oldest Marxist–Leninist communist party in India and one of the nine national parties in the country. The CPI was founded in modern-day Kanpur (formerly known as Cawnpore) on 26 December 1925. Ullal or ''Uḷḷāla'' is a City Municipality at Mangalore, educational, commercial & industrial hub in Dakshina Kannada district. It is located 10 km from the Mangalore City centre. Vaikom
Vaikom, , is a municipal town and a capital town of Vaikom Taluk, situated in the northwest of Kottayam district in the state of Kerala, India. The town is also noted for its role in the Indian independence movement for being the venue of Vaikom Satyagraham, a civil rights movement aimed at securing freedom of movement for all sections of society through the public roads leading to the Vaikom Shiva Temple. Aroor
Aroor is a census town at the northern end of Alappuzha district and the southern suburb of the city of Kochi in the state of Kerala, India. It is a seafood related industrial area of Alleppey district, and acts as the Southern entry point into Kochi city. Aroor is at present a municipality located just south of Kochi Urban Agglomeration. It is expected to be a part of Kochi UA in the upcoming census, since its urban growth is now continuous with Kochi city. Karunagappally
Karunagappally is a municipality in the Kollam district of Kerala, India. It is 24 km north of Kollam and south of Alappuzha. University of Kerala, formerly the University of Travancore, is a state-run public university located in Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala, India. It was established in 1937 by a promulgation of the Maharajah of Travancore, Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma who was also the first Chancellor of the university. C. P.
