P. K. R. Pillai
Parisapparambil Kunjan Pillai Ramachandran Pillai (1930/1931 – 16 May 2023) was an Indian film producer, distributor, businessman, and actor who worked in the Malayalam film industry. He was the founder of film production company Shirdi Sai Creations and distributed films through Shirdi Sai Release. He is credited with producing eight of Mohanlal's films in the 1980s, and is best known for producing ''Chithram''. Biography Pillai hailed from Koothattukulam, Kerala and in his early years began a Bombay import business which grew to become Starnight Group of Industries. He was also active in politics and was a member of the Indian National Congress. He maintained a close friendship with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba, and had built a temple and an eponymous auditorium near his house in Koothattukulam. ''Chithram'' () is a 1988 Indian Malayalam-language screwball comedy film written and directed by Priyadarshan. The film was produced by P. K. R. Pillai under his production house Shirdi Sai Creations, and stars Mohanlal, Ranjini, Nedumudi Venu, Lizy, Poornam Viswanathan, Sreenivasan, M. G. Soman, Sukumari, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Shanavas, while Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair makes a cameo appearance. The songs were composed by Kannur Rajan and film score by Johnson. Mohanlal won the Kerala State Film Award - Special Jury Award for his performance in this film. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) is a specialised wing of the Central Reserve Police Force of India to deal with riot and crowd control situations. History RAF was raised on 11 December 1991 with headquarters in New Delhi. It became fully operational on 7 October 1992, to deal with riots, riot like situations, crowd control, rescue and relief operations, and related unrest. The first five battalions were raised by October 1992 and an additional 5 battalions were added in April 1994.
