P. J. Hammond
Peter J. Hammond (born c. 1930s; sometimes credited as P. J. Hammond) is a British television writer and novelist. Career Hammond's television career began in the 1960s, when he began by working on BBC police dramas such as ''Dixon of Dock Green'' and ''Z-Cars'', on the latter of which he served as script editor for a year from 1969 to 1970. In 1970 he also wrote for the fantasy series '' Ace of Wands'', and later in the decade contributed to the soap opera ''Emmerdale Farm''. He also continued to write for crime and police dramas, penning episodes of ''The Sweeney''. He also created the offbeat 1984 sitcom '' Lame Ducks''. In the 1980s and 1990s, Hammond wrote for popular ITV police/detective shows ''The Gentle Touch'', ''The Bill'' and ''Wycliffe'', as well as for ''Doctor Finlay'', the new production of the 1960s BBC series ''Dr. Finlay's Casebook''. Dixon Of Dock Green
''Dixon of Dock Green'' was a BBC police procedural television series about daily life at a fictional London police station, with the emphasis on petty crime, successfully controlled through common sense and human understanding. It ran from 1955 to 1976. The central character, George Dixon, first appeared in the film ''The Blue Lamp''. Dixon is a mature and sympathetic police constable, played by Jack Warner in all of the 432 episodes. Dixon is the embodiment of a typical "bobby" who would be familiar with the area in which he patrolled and its residents and often lived there himself. The series contrasted with later programmes such as ''Z-Cars'', which reflected a more aggressive policing culture. Colin Baker
Colin Baker (born 8 June 1943) is an English actor who played Paul Merroney in the BBC drama series '' The Brothers'' from 1974 to 1976 and the sixth incarnation of the Doctor in the long-running science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' from 1984 to 1986. The Sixth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He is portrayed by Colin Baker. During the long history of the British science fiction television programme '' Doctor Who'', a number of stories were proposed but, for a variety of reasons, never fully produced. Below is a list of unmade serials which were submitted by recognised professional writers and the BBC had intended to produce, but for one reason or another were not made. Many have since been the subject of a feature in '' Doctor Who Magazine'', or other professional periodicals or books devoted to the television show.
