P.T. Ricci
Peter Thomas Ricci (born July 10, 1987) is an American professional lacrosse player who last played for the Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse. Ricci played four years for Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pennsylvania in 2005, after starring in football and lacrosse and running track. He finished his senior season at Loyola with a team leading 91 ground balls, and was the eleventh draft pick in the 2009 MLL Draft to the Chesapeake Bayhawks. After two seasons with the Bayhawks he was traded to the Boston Cannons in May 2011. He won consecutive championships in 2010 and 2011 with the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Boston Cannons respectively, attributing to the Cannons first Steinfeld Trophy in MLL history. Philadelphia Barrage
The Philadelphia Barrage were a field lacrosse team that are based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and member of Major League Lacrosse. They were the Bridgeport Barrage from 2001 to 2003 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The team then relocated to Philadelphia from the 2004 season to the 2007 season when they became a traveling team for 2008. They ceased operations before the 2009 season due to the economic situation in the United States. The Philadelphia Barrage were resurrected for the 2020 season. Franchise history The team played in Bridgeport, Connecticut from the 2001 to the 2003 season and relocated to the Philadelphia suburb of Villanova in 2004. Brodie Merrill
Brodie Merrill (born November 5, 1981) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player. He currently plays in the National Lacrosse League for the San Diego Seals and Premier Lacrosse League for the Cannons. Merrill is recognized by the Premier Lacrosse League as having revolutionized the LSM position, and is the namesake for the Brodie Merrill LSM of the Year Award, being the only active PLL player to have an award named after them. The Steinfeld Trophy was a trophy given annually to the winners of the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) championship. The trophy is contested in a 4-team playoff where the top teams (based on regular season record) compete in a single-elimination format. Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was a men's field lacrosse league in the United States. The league's inaugural season was in 2001. Teams played anywhere from ten to 16 games in a summertime regular season. This was followed by a four-team playoff for the championship trophy, the Steinfeld Trophy, named after founder Jake Steinfeld. League attendance peaked at 6,417 in 2011 and the 2019 average was 4,587. The Chesapeake Bayhawks and New York Lizards (originally the Baltimore Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards) were MLL members throughout its existence and competed in the first three championship games, with the Lizards winning two.
