P.O. Elassona Football Club ( el, Ποδοσφαιρικός Όμιλος Ελασσόνας) is a Greek football club based in Elassona, Larissa, Greece. History The club was founded in the mid-1920s under the name of ''Proodeftikos Omilos Elassonas''. It was recognized by Hellenic Football Federation in 1957. In 2007 POE was merged with crosstown rivals ''Olosson'' to form a new club: P.S. Elassonas. After the club's takeover in 2011 by businessman and lawyer Andreas Patsis the club changed its name back to POE ahead of the 2011–12 season in Delta Ethniki. 10-time Greek champion with Olympiacos Piraeus Alexis Alexandris was appointed as the new coach. POE has participated in Beta Ethniki,Gamma Ethniki and Delta Ethniki in the past. They currently compete in the A Division of Larissa Football Clubs Association, the Greek fourth tier. Elassona ( el, Ελασσόνα; Katharevousa: gr, Ἐλασσών, Elasson) is a town and a municipality in the Larissa regional unit in Greece. During antiquity Elassona was called Oloosson (Ὀλοοσσών) and was a town of the Perrhaebi tribe. It is situated at the foot of Mount Olympus. Horacio "Boy" Morales, Jr. (September 11, 1943 – February 29, 2012) was a Filipino economist and politician. A prominent figure in the underground left during the martial law rule of President Ferdinand Marcos, he later served as Secretary of Agrarian Reform during the presidency of Joseph Estrada. Biography Morales was born in Moncada, Tarlac. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of the Philippines in 1965, and a master's degree in economics from the University of Oklahoma in 1968. Morales entered government service in 1965, joining the economic staff of President Ferdinand Marcos as a senior economist. He eventually became the executive vice-president of the Development Academy of the Philippines. Giannis Galitsios (Greek: Γιάννης Γκαλίτσιος; born 15 May 1958) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career Galitsios played only for AE Larissa, in 399 official League games (holding the team's all-time appearance record) and he is considered to be one of the club's best ever. Vangelis Moras ( el, Βαγγέλης Μόρας; born 26 August 1981) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a centre back and currently a manager. Club career Early years Moras started his football Ampelokipoi Larissa and in 1999 he moved to AEL. In 2001 he played for Proodeftiki and after one season at the club, they won promotion to the first division in 2002.
