Oxygiene 23
Oxygiene 23 were an American trance music group based out of Chicago, Illinois. The nucleus of the band comprised keyboardist Van Christie, vocalist Jane Jensen and wind player and percussionist Jim Marcus. The theme of the band's somber compositions was informed by mythology and new-age music. The band released one studio album titled ''Blue'' in 1995 for Fifth Colvmn Records. History Oxygiene 23 was formed in Chicago by musicians Van Christie, Jane Jensen and Jim Marcus. Marcus and Christie were still writing and performing in Die Warzau when they recruited vocalist and released the song "Sacrifice" in 1993 for the Invisible Records compilation ''Can You See It Yet?''. In 1995 Oxygiene 23 released their debut full-length studio album ''Blue'' for Fifth Colvmn Records. The album was recorded with the contributions of Christopher Hall from Stabbing Westward and Mars Williams from The Waitresses. Christopher Hall (musician)
Christopher Hall (born Robert Christopher Hall, May 18, 1965) is an American musician best known as a founding member and vocalist for the industrial rock band Stabbing Westward. Hall met keyboardist Walter Flakus in 1984 and formed the band in Macomb, Illinois. After the breakup of Stabbing Westward in 2002, Hall founded a new band, The Dreaming (US band), The Dreaming in 2001. After reuniting in 2016, Hall has remained active with Stabbing Westward and released a new album, titled ''Chasing Ghosts'' in March of 2022. Personal life Hall has stated that he attended Western Illinois University during the early years of Stabbing Westward, alongside keyboardist Walter Flakus. Hall is married and has 2 sons. In July 2022, Hall announced that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer. Interscope Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group through its Interscope Geffen A&M imprint. Founded in late 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field as a $20 million joint venture with Atlantic Records of Warner Music Group and Interscope Communications, it differed from most record companies by letting A&R staff control decisions and allowing artists and producers full creative control. Schwann Catalog
The ''Schwann Catalog'' (previously ''Schwann Long Playing Record Catalog'' or later ''Schwann Record And Tape Guide'') was a catalog of recordings started by William Schwann in 1949. The first edition was hand-typed and 26 pages long, and it listed 674 long-playing records (see LP record). By the late 1970s, over 150,000 record albums had been listed in Schwann. The company was honored by the record industry both at the 25th anniversary (1974) and 35th anniversary (1984). The Schwann Catalog changed hands several times, sold in 1976, then again in the late 1980s to Stereophile, then to Valley Media in the 1990s. In 2002, the company was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Alliance Entertainment Corporation.
