Owethu Mbira (born 6 March 1987) is a South African professional boxer who competed from 2008 to 2011. As an amateur, he won a bronze medal at lightweight at the 2007 All-Africa Games. Career At the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers, he upset local Hamza Kramou but was defeated by Saifeddine Nejmaoui of Tunisia. BoxRec
BoxRec or boxrec.com is a website dedicated to holding updated records of professional and amateur boxers, both male and female. It also maintains a MediaWiki-based encyclopaedia of boxing. The objective of the site is to document every professional boxer and boxing match from the instigation of the Queensberry Rules up to the present times. BoxRec publishes ratings for all active boxers and all time ratings. Since 2012 the site has hosted Barry Hugman's History of World Championship Boxing. Foundation The site was founded by John Sheppard, an Englishman. The African Games, formally known as the All-Africa Games or the Pan African Games, are a continental multi-sport event held every four years, organized by the African Union (AU) with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC). Saifeddine Nejmaoui
Saifeddine Nejmaoui (born May 5, 1981) is a Tunisian boxer who won the lightweight division at the 2007 All-Africa Games and twice competed at the Olympic Games: 2004 and 2008. In Athens 2004 he lost his first match to Frenchman Khedafi Djelkhir (13:38). He qualified for the Athens Games by winning the gold medal at the 1st AIBA African 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Casablanca, Morocco. In the final of the event he defeated Uganda's Brian Mayanja. Nejmaoui won the African Championships in 2005. At the All-Africa Games he won the lightweight title in Algiers defeating Owethu Mbira in the semis.
