Owain Jones (geographer)
Owain Jones FGS (born 1957, Newport, Wales) is a Professor of Environmental Humanities at Bath Spa University (UK). He was previously Reader in Cultural Geography: Place, Nature and Landscape (previously Senior Research Fellow) at the Countryside & Community Research Institute (which is a joint Institute of the Universities of the West of England and Gloucestershire and the Royal Agricultural College and Hartpury College) and member of staff of the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, Faculty of Environment and Technology, University of the West of England. He works mainly in cultural geography and has published a number of peer-reviewed research articles in international geography and related social science journals. He has two main areas of research and writing interests; geographies of nature-culture and children's geographies. Owain Rhys Jones (born 1 October 1996) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a winger or a striker for Cymru Premier side Pontypridd United. Early life Jones was born in Swansea and educated at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, Ammanford, Wales. Club career Early career Jones played junior football for Pontardawe Town Juniors AFC before signing for Swansea City at the age of 10. Swansea City Prolific in front of goal, Jones was integrated into the Swansea City U21s squad during 2014–15 having scored 16 goals in 20 appearances for the U18s team. He was offered his first professional contract in 2014 for Swansea City. Yeovil Town (loan) On 31 January 2017, Jones signed for Yeovil Town on loan until the end of the season. Owain Tudur Jones (born 15 October 1984) is a Welsh former footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He represented the Wales national football team and during his club career he played for Porthmadog, Bangor City, Swansea City, Swindon Town, Norwich City, Yeovil Town, Brentford, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Hibernian and Falkirk. He is currently assistant manager of Wales C. He is also currently a presenter for the Welsh football show ''Sgorio'' and Welsh magazine show ''Heno''. Owain William Jones (9 September 1921 – February 1995) was a Welsh Anglican priest. Jones was born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1921 and educated at Selwyn College, Cambridge. He was ordained deacon in 1938, and priest in 1939. Crockfords 1987/8 p 309 (London, Church House, 1987) After a curacy in Roath he was chaplain at St Michael's College, Llandaff.
